In 2001, Matthias Schulmeister founded Schulmeister Management Consulting GmbH in Vienna. What began with a clear focus on recruiting professionals and executives in the finance sector has developed over the past 25 years into a specialised recruitment consultancy with several locations in Austria and the Czech Republic.

As the company grew, its service portfolio was continuously expanded. Today, Schulmeister’s areas of expertise include Finance & Accounting and Controlling as well as Technology & IT, Engineering, Real Estate, Executive Search and Interim Management.

For Matthias Schulmeister, the anniversary is above all an opportunity to reflect on the people who have made this development possible:

Today, Schulmeister operates from locations in Vienna, Linz, Graz, Salzburg and Prague, supporting companies in their search for specialised professionals and executives.

Starting from Vienna, Schulmeister continued to grow over the following years, opening new locations and expanding into additional specialist areas.

Today, the company combines regional market knowledge with specialised recruitment expertise across Finance, Technology & IT, Engineering and Real Estate. Executive Search and Interim Management further complement the service portfolio.

More than 500 successful placements every year represent far more than growth: they stand for individual career paths, company success stories and long-term partnerships.

Growing Together

What began in Vienna in 2001 is today carried forward by an experienced partner team with different regional and specialist responsibilities.

Alongside founder Matthias Schulmeister, Robert Szvetecz represents the Vienna office, Ulrike Steiner and Birgit Eiselsberg are responsible for Linz and Salzburg, and Kevin Hütter leads the Graz office. Johann Halmdienst heads Technology & IT, Felix Weselmann is responsible for the continued development of the Engineering division, Tomáš Bergl represents the Prague office, and Hubert Wolfsbauer complements the group through PersonalExperts.

Together, they continue to shape the development of the Schulmeister Group and its specialised recruitment services.

Our anniversary celebration was not only an opportunity to celebrate, but also a chance to look back together.

Throughout the evening, we revisited some of the most important milestones in Schulmeister’s history – from our beginnings in Vienna and the opening of further locations to the expansion of our specialist areas.

It also highlighted just how much Schulmeister, the world of work and recruitment have changed over the past 25 years. At the same time, our fundamental ambition has remained the same: bringing together companies and people who are the right match, both professionally and personally.
